Notes

Niece of General Francis Marion, the swamp fox. who served in South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. She made a beautify handmade valentine and sent it to her future husband just before they married. The valentine was saved and published with an article in the newspaper many years latter. I have a clipping of this article.
