Now to Charity. She was born 1770//1780 (both Richard's and Charity's birth dates estimated from 1830 and 1840 Census) in Wilkes County, North Carolina and her father was Thomas Parks III and mother Sarah ? Thomas did not leave a Will, but Charity's brother's George and Benjamin were administrators of the Estate.in 1820/1821. The Power's of Attorney's list all of the brother's and sisters of Charity. There there is another Document that list the children as well.....both documents list Richard Chandler and Charity his wife, of Franklin County Georgia. While there is no actual marriage license/bond....the documents prove that Richard Chandler and Charity Parks were married. ( I have copies of all land transactions and Power's of Attorneys)

I just wanted you to know that you have a William Lancaster Jameson Jr. Listed as Ann Crawford and William Lancaster Jameson Sr. son born 1845.

Our family has William Lancaster Jameson Jr. Born Aug 20 1829-died oct 4 1905. He did go with his dad till he was 21 or 22 then he married Mary Ann Cain 1850. They had 10 children and John Alston Jameson Jul 4 1859 is our link. We know about Ann Crawford And her two children Lindsey. Even if that is a son by them the date is pretty far off unless she had William before she had her own children with Lindsey. Thanks.

Notes

When she was born her parents were living at 4239 Castleman Ave. in St. Louis , MO. Worked as a salesman for an automobile dealership. On 8Mar1942 she requested a copy of her birth certificate from St. Louis while she was living at 2612 Oakdale Ave in Houston.

She wrote an employment resume that is interesting:

I have had a real estate license 18 to 20 years, but have not actively engaged in real estate all of that time; have been active probably 12 to 14 years ,the last time for the last ten years from 1967 to 1978.

Prior to working in real estate I had considerable business experience in office management, organizing and installing systems, training and supervising a staff of from 3 to 8 people. I was employed by Shell Oil Company to plan and install a system of filing, storing, us recording (date, use, person using, etc) of a large volume of engineering maps, photos, government records, which had been declared as "classified", "restricted", or "confidential" by the U. S. Government. This was a long and involved operation and took about four to five years to complete. This of course, involved hiring, training and supervising a staff to maintain the system.

When this was completed, I was sent to the Shell oil New York office to install a system of indexing, filing, and use recording all of the geological maps, reports, logs, and various other materials all of Shell's properties in this country. (This was my most challenging assignment as I then knew absolutely nothing about geological and/or geophysics. I might as well have been filing Chinese documents.) After setting up this system and training the office personnel in its use and maintenance, I returned to Houston. (In her letters to her Mother she said that she had been invited to stay, but didn't want to live for good in New York.

After leaving Shell, I Was employed by Tenneco (then Tennessee gas Transmission Company) to plan, install, and supervise their Administrative Research Library. This entailed the physical layout, selection of the reference works, books, and materials, planning the system, installing the system, training the staff, and supervision of the operation. Later I did the same thing for the legal research library.

In the early 1960's I opened my own business, selling materials and equipment, and giving instruction in handmaking wool rugs. This grew eventually into a teaching operation in all types of arts and crafts. This was a lot of fun but finally became more work than fun and the profits were not in proportion to the work. so I sold out, but it was a valuable experience.

In a newspaper article on her rug store she said that her young dachshund pup (Redstone Rocket) chewed up a braided rug of hers. So she made a new one from scrap work from an old coat and some blankets of hers. So sometime between 1962 and 1964 she started a business based on her rug making skills.

All of my real estate experience was with K. L. Mc Guirt and Company until Mr. McGuirt's untimely death in 1970. In January 1970, I moved to River Plantation to manage Mr. McGuirt's Conroe office, with high hopes in anticipation of the exclusive residential development that was planned for lake Conroe properties. Unfortunately Mr. McGuirt's death made those plans impossible. I recommended that the Conroe office be closed, at least temporarily. I stayed on until the end of 1970 at which time I resigned. I tried several different reality companies in Conroe and in the area but was not satisfied with any of them. Conrad Bering had asked me to be on the lookout for a good location for a Montgomery office for Bering Reality. I located and helped him set up the office just over the county line in Montgomery County, TX, where he still maintains his branch office.

Diamondhead the developers Newport on Lake Houston offered me what appeared to be a great opportunity; the exclusive sales rights on their Townhouses and "spec" houses. I sold my home in River plantation and leased a house in Newport development where I soon learned that serious mistakes had been made in the promotion of the development. There is still a struggle to get this very beautiful development "off the ground".

I had known Bob Murray in the days of the old Town & Country so when I heard he was reopening the "new" Town & Country, I was one of the first to join up in the Fall of 1975. I had moved back to Houston in 1974 and had tried several different companies, none of which was quite what I was looking for, so I was very happy to "settle in" at Town & Country.

All of this history, coupled with our discovery upon her death, that she was living from hand to mouth on Social Security, suggests that she lost everything that she had inherited from her family on bad business ventures and bad real estate investments. There was a terrible real estate crash in Houston in the 1980s.
