Notes

He started with the Houston Post in Feb1929 when Houston's population was only about 290,000. He was City Editor of the Houston Post from 1934-1936. He met a sister of Bonnie of Bonnie & Clyde fame. Bonnie was a nymphomaniac and Clyde was impotent. In 1937 he left the Post to work for the Associated Press an a War correspondent in the Pacific, and stayed on in the far east most of his life. In 1959 he went to work for the Houston Chronicle, covering the Texas legislature for about three years and then the Colt 45 football team. he met many famous people like Harry Truman, Douglas Mac Arthur, and Franklin Roosevelt. he was a heavy drinker and smoker and he died of emphysema.
