Am related to you through Stephen C. Naylor (Naler) through his brother Robert who went to Arkansas after Civil War. Used to live in Dallas and have communicated with Mrs. Wade Sadler of Gatesville who did research on another brother Joseph and the Naler Cemetery there close to Moody. I was raised in Atlanta, GA but left years ago. Came back in 1993 and started back in the search for Dickson & Mary Naylor - your info helped - I didn't know she was Mary Carpenter. As you know, the Naylor's hung around here quite a bit - Murray, Forsyth and Schley counties and I have found several of the Civil War records for the brothers in the family. I think someone is buried at the Mars Hill Cemetery here but have not driven out to see yet. Have you ever done more research on the Dickson Naylor family in Virginia? I travel in the Richmond area quite a bit and I have considered going to the College of William & Mary to see if they have info. I have been to SLC - LDS Research Center but couldn't go back any further with their info. Did find a "Texas Naler" though so I suspect he is from Stephen or Joseph! I have found commissary records for Dickson and Mary - he did fight in the Indian Wars here in GA and was given land in the lottery. Thought I could get a tie-in to the Rev. War but he was too young to have fought. Would like to hear from you and would be glad to share what I've found.
