Richard Chandler married Elizabeth Carter 17 Sept.1770 A dau. Sarah Smith born Sept 17,1770 Baptized Nov.11,1799 and son Richard Carter Chandler Baptized Jan. 26,1772. Also 1787 Fluvanna Co. Personal Property Tax shows one Chandler. Elizabth owning 5 cows. Elizabeth was shown as not tithable. NO Chandlers show in the 1800 Tax list. (came from Fluvanna Co. look-up.) Richard Chandler will written 26 Oct.1781 probated Feb.1782 . Now, I am researching Chandlers of Kanawha Co. WV. Richard Carter Chandler born 1803 is in W.V on census. And my GG-grandfather John A. W. Chandler born1809. I think they are bros. A Richard Chandler came to Kan. in 1820 (on census) bel. 50-60 yrs old. This was first Chandler. He would have been born abt 1770. He had a family. I think this is Richard Carter Chandler b Nov. 9 1771 son of Richard and Eliz (Carter) Chandler. Later in census a Richard C.Chandler Jr. b 1803 . Do you know names of children of Richard C. Chandler b Nov.9 1771? I think my John Anthony Wayne Chandler is his son too. John A.W. had son named Joseph Liftwick Chandler (my Ggrandfather) his son John Anthony Chandler (grandfather to me). If you don't know this I'll have to go to W.V. to research more. The male names in Eliz.& Richard lines are the same names as in our line. I hope this makes since ,Thank again,Linda
